Cooling Things Down: The Air Conditioning Upgrade
Following on from the work done in his previous episode, Gary continues with the kits supplied from IntroCar for the Air Conditioning Compressor and Suction Throttle Valve. With Cameron’s seasoned advice, he fits the new compressor, dryer, and electrical components, ensuring the Corniche's cooling system is not just functional but top-tier.
Safety First: A Visit to Roads Autocare
With the upgraded air conditioning system in place, Gary seeks professional assistance to purge the old system and replenish it using the correct ratio of pack oil and gas. Thanks to Matty Roads at Roads Autocare, the system is up and running without leaks, leaving Gary with a significant milestone in his restoration journey.
Tackling the Rear: Torque Arm Mounts and Ride Height Kit
After taking care of the air conditioning, Gary moves onto the Torque Arm Mounts, fitting them to the rear sub-frame sway bar. His attention to detail doesn’t stop there and he decides to refit the rear anti-roll bar as part of the previously installed ride height kit from IntroCar. As he continues his work, each component adjusted brings his Rolls-Royce Corniche closer to its original state.

AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR UPGRADE KIT (UE43934KT1)
This bundle provides you with all the components necessary to change your compressor from the original Harrison A6 compressor. Lightweight, and using lower power, this modern design features teflon coated pistons for reduced noise, improved reliability and lower fuel consumption.
The bundle includes:
- UE43934NF Upgraded A6 Replacement Compressor
- UD11868 Receiver Drier
- RH14155 Expansion Valve
- Oils, all seals and o-rings
- High/low Pressure Switch
- Pigtail loom
SUCTION THROTTLE VALVE KIT (CD6687)
CD6687 is an electronic modification kit to replace the original suction throttling valve UD11429. It works by blanking the original valve (which is left in situ) and replacing it with an electronic switching unit.
If your original valve is sound, you can replace just the diaphagm CD4900 - available here.
