Fitting Instructions - Part Number UD72242NF Window Motor Kit

UD72242NF Prestige Parts Window Lift Motors may be fitted in place of the original Bosch motors which are no longer manufactured. Please follow these simple steps (note that images show partial assemblies for ease of demonstration). Before you start, you must make sure that the glass slides easily in the channel, the and mechanism is free, and there is no water ingress.

1) Remove the original ¼” hex nuts retaining the original motor and remove motor:

2) Remove the original adaptor plate by undoing the slotted screw and allen screw. Discard the slotted screw and plate, but retain the allen screw for later use:

3) If your new motor is supplied with this teardrop-shaped adaptor plate, remove and discard it (it is used on pre-Bosch type window lift motors only):

4) To remove the adaptor plate you will need to undo the two M6 allen screws holding it to the new motor. Retain the screws for use later.

5) The plastic plug connector should also be removed. Using a fine flat screwdriver, gently release the tabs on the brass connectors:

6) You can now remove the teardrop plate easily. Once removed, re-fit the plug connector, using the screw driver to bend back the tabs on the spade connectors so the cables cannot be withdrawn.

7) Now fit the rhomboid adaptor plate supplied to the motor using the M6 x16 mm countersunk screw provided:

8) Fit the motor & plate assembly to the gearbox, rotating the worm drive so that the nylon coupling engages fully with the pin on the motor shaft.

9) Now, re-using the allen screws retained in no. (4) above, fit the motor and plate assembly to the gearbox, as in (A) & (B) below.

Please note: if the gearbox is equipped with a UNF thread in position (B), re-use the allen screw retained in instruction no. (2).

10) Connect the cables and test the motor.
