The IntroCar Family

We’re proud to say that we are still working with some of the very same customers after three decades now, having celebrated our 30 year anniversary in 2018. From initial enquiry through to long term relationship we like to work with our customers to restore their cars or to ensure that they are getting the best price on excellent quality parts if they are specialist workshops or resellers of our parts. Delivering a ‘right first time’ experience for our customers is the main concern for our team & we actively ask for feedback so we can ensure that happens. We believe in keeping these beautiful cars on the road & helping to make it a more affordable & pleasant experience maintaining them. We’ve come a long way since we first opened our doors in 1988 with a team of 3, a garage full of spares & a couple of broken down Rolls-Royce & Bentleys prompting our founder Struan Erskine to start selling parts.

In one of London’s leafy & well-known suburbs, Wimbledon, we manage one of the Rolls-Royce & Bentley motor industry’s largest parts distribution networks. With a well-equipped, purpose-built dispatch facility we achieve a 99.9% accuracy level for parts inventory & order dispatch. Using barcode scanning for movement of items down to the very last washer & nut, we know exactly where the items in your order are, for the very short time the items are picked from their locations, packed, checked, labelled for delivery & collected to begin their journey to your door. Our parts, salesmen, research & development, accounts & order management teams are all under one roof. This allows us to streamline order processing for customers, & communicate new product development directly with all the departments as we introduce ranges. Our online catalogues list every single item down to the very last nut, bolt & washer. It really is the most comprehensive parts listing for classic Rolls-Royce & Bentley motorcars. We’ve now built sections for every vehicle from 1946 through to 1980 and we’re working through the 1980 to 2003 section with new catalogue pages being added daily.

2018 is proving to be a very interesting year indeed. The classic car industry continues to grow in leaps & bounds, & here at IntroCar we find that our business is growing rapidly thanks to you – our loyal customers. To cope with that growth we have been recruiting as well as improving our internal processes to ensure we continue to provide the level of service we strive towards. I have been fortunate to be involved in a number of challenging & rewarding projects that have either come to fruition recently, or which are nearing completion in the coming weeks & months.

We continue to be supported by specialist manufacturers who take pride in their work & approach problems as opportunities. The result is the addition of a significant number of products that are sold worldwide by ourselves or through our trusted distributors. The results of some of that work are to be found in this brochure. We have also noted some emergent problems in the industry in relation to material specifications, where certain seals have failed - most likely, in our view, because cost pressures have forced manufacturers to reduce or degrade the content of the noble materials from which those seals are produced. This has affected some brake seals, gaiters & rubber boots, & fuel seals (the latter related to levels of bio-ethanol in fuel). See our more recent blog posts relating to this issue In response to this we have been performing laboratory testing on certified materials & seals & have released a number of products that have been sourced & tooled specifically for the Prestige Parts range, enabling us to remain in control of their quality & specification. We note that other suppliers have simply removed those seals from their range, leaving the Prestige Parts product as the only available option.

Increasingly, we find that IntroCar is the only company prepared to invest in the re-manufacture of parts that have ceased to be available or have become prohibitively expensive. I remain personally involved with building the website (IntroCar.co.uk), which also relies upon thousands of hours of work by a small but dedicated team. As I write, we have created nearly 2,500 pages of interactive parts lists (we call them LookBooks), which provide instant availability on parts at the simple click of a mouse. Those pages are usually applied to a number of models and year ranges, which means that there are in excess of ten thousand pages of parts list pages now available online for classic Rolls-Royce and Bentley motorcars. We have more to offer in this area, but for now that remains a closely guarded secret… It remains a real privilege to be involved in this industry, which is one of the few where one can remain truly close to one’s customers.
