Bentley S1
The Bentley S1, also known as the S-Type or S Type, is a 4-door full-size luxury sedan introduced in 1955. It shares many similarities with the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, differing mainly in the design of the radiator grille and badging. The S1 was powered by the engine from the previous Bentley R-Type, enlarged to 4.9 litres (4887cc) and equipped with a wheelbase that was extended by 3 inches compared to its predecessor. Initially known simply as the “S-Type,” this model became referred to as the S1 following the introduction of its successors, the Bentley S2 and S3.
The Bentley S1 was offered with both standard and long-wheelbase options (introduced in 1957), catering to those desiring extra space and luxury. This catalogue also includes parts for the rare and desirable Bentley S1 Continental models, which were custom-bodied by some of the world’s most renowned coachbuilders and focused on providing superior performance and handling in a grand touring style.
