Fitting Instructions – Bonnet/Hood Light Switch Replacement Kit RH14161-X
The new bonnet/hood light switch may be used on all models listed in the ‘Applicable to’ section. The replacement switch may require an alternative operating plunger and/or fitting spacer. These parts are included as part of RH14161-X.
Applicable to:
All Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars from 1965-1998 (other than Silver Seraph & Arnage).
Introduction:
Bonnet/Hood light switches under references UD12195 and UD70007 have been superceded by replacement kit RH14161-X.

Procedure:
- Remove and discard the old switch together with the original spacer (if fitted).
- The kit is supplied with the short plunger (.520 inch) assembled into the switch body. This kit can be fitted directly from the bag for all applications other that Silver Shadow and early Corniche cars (refer to table).
- If the plunger needs to be changed insert a screwdriver into the centre hole of the switch.
- Unscrew the plunger from the switch body making sure the screwdriver is held securely in place so as not allow the spring and ball to fall from the switch body.
- Screw in the required plunger ensuring not to over tighten.
- Reconnect the wiring loom to the switch. Note: Configuration of the wires is unimportant, however connect one wire to the earth of the terminals.
- Fit the switch and the spacer plate (if required) in the original position using the setscrews, nuts and washer provided.
- Test for correct operation.
