RREC Rally 2018 - The event of the Rolls-Royce Owner's Calendar!

The Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club Rally has been running for 59 years now and it hasn't stop delivering fun for its' members with the bringing together of classic enthusiasts, picnic-ing, camping, dancing, music and winners against a backdrop of simply beautiful cars in stunning British countryside.

Needless to say that this event is the biggest Rolls-Royce & Bentley gathering in the world with over 1,100 cars normally in attendance. IntroCar celebrated 30 years in the business at this years' rally and attended for its' 25th consistent year, bringing as always a huge range of heritage stock with massive discounts (up to 70%!), a range of our favourite Prestige Parts® products, a pop up sale of stock items (up to 40% off!) and an unfinished model of Bensport's new classic 'La Sarthe'.

A huge change from our first year in the rally where all we have was a trestle table at the back of a van ;)

From what it used to be a 1 day event with nearly 100 cars, the rally has evolved into a three day event. Starting Friday with a day mainly dedicated to trade, over 45 specialists and their varying offerings arrived. Saturday and Sunday were days open to the public with the main events and entertainment taking place. On Saturday the 1948 'Churchill' Silver Wraith and 1951 Mk VI drove through the main field with the one and only Winston Churchill (it would seem!) seated comfortably in the back enjoying his favourite cigar and waving to the cheering crowd. After that, there was musical entertainment with Todd Miller & The Joe Loss Orchestra live in concert allowing for some dancing in the beautiful sunshine. Sunday was predominantly about the judging as the thousands or so cars that drove down to enter the Annual Rally & Concours hoped to win one of the 21 trophies available this year, aside from the ribbons available in their own classes.

For a couple of years the rally has been held at Burghley House in Stamford but previous locations have included Althorpe Castle, Cottesbrook, Kelmarsh Hall and Rockingham Castle. The acres of lush green landscape of Burghley House opens its gates to enthusiasts and their families, dogs, cats and much more in the chance to entertain a growing public for three lovely sunny days. It's more than just a gathering for Rolls-Royce & Bentley owners, nowadays you can find a bouncy castle, ice-cream trucks, live music and feel the ground shake with the flypast of a Spitfire, a Lancaster Bomber and possibly the Red Arrows. If you didn't make it this year, then we do hope to see you in 2019 for the next. It's been confirmed as taking place at Burghley House again on 21-23rd June 2019 so make sure to put it in your diary for yourself and your car and we will make sure to save you a Goody Bag!
