[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bkt2m7cwRyE[/embed] "So this is a Rear Number Plate Plinth from a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud. This is again made by the same people who did this Air Intake Assembly (UB3556) and the main thing about this that is challenging really is again it's all about tooling. In particular these areas here are very difficult to form without spending an awful lot of money on tooling. Normally, you would make a single piece, you just press it. It's what we call a 'deep draw press' so a lot of money in tooling. If you turn this over you can actually see that this has been made and welded together in certain places. What we've done is we have tooled this part to get the right profiles, and then it's hand finished in here. So you get the welds along the inside and then on the outside it's linished back, which gets rid of any defects on the surface and then it's polished and chrome plated. So it's a combination of using a bit of hand manufacture and a bit of tooling as well in order to get the price at a level that people can afford. It is not just a handmade knocked up part. We have spent quite a bit of money in the initial tooling to get particularly these places here right and the finish along here. It's not for American cars as they had a smaller number plate so it's European cars, UK cars and the rest of the world. This was brought to market around 2 or 3 years ago." To order a Rear Number Plate Plinth for your Rolls-Royce or Bentley motorcar here.]]>
